There isn’t a place in this world that doesn’t sooner or later drown in the inky indigo of darkness. By the light of the sun and moon, we rise and rest, the shadows offering their own solace from the blaring light of day. There is a dark that can feel unsettling, it mimics the feeling of unknowing. We are forced to relinquish control, to fall. In both the light and the darkness there is always an invitation to awaken. Both are a gentle request to choose happiness, a happiness that is a kind of holiness. Palpable and enduring. Found in the simple bright fields of poppies, in the giggle of a child, the gentle breathing of an animal that trusts you enough to fall into a deep sleep. As we walk through new lands at dusk let us notice how the dark illuminates the light. Color becomes richer, a decadent feast for the eyes, just waiting to be photographed. Even in pure darkness, we are invited to feel. With our eyes closed, touch becomes craveable, aromas more potent, music moves us until our skin prickles with life. Suddenly even with the absence, light is still present.
This artwork is part of a Numbered Edition Series of 50 prints (25 in each size). Each artwork will come with a COA (Certificate of Authenticity) signed, numbered, dated and embossed with artist seal.
