This flower art print is an exploration of perfectionism. As I began pulling together the pieces for this fine art photography shoot, I wanted to see what would happen if I left my expectations behind. I wanted to embrace the beauty in imperfection. I wanted to see if I could have the peachy flowers reflect our winding, evolving, stumbling, beautiful journeys.
I let some of the Ranunculus blossoms float to the floor while others carried themselves tall and proud. I had a couple turn their heads aside while two more faced the lens straight on. I see every stage of my life in them. The fall where I learn. The turn where I change direction. The stare where I set my focus. The reach where I grow.
The French say that the most beautiful things are always a bit messy. I agree. As I’ve invited a bit of imperfection into my life, I can see the wonder in things that evolve and change — things that defy uniformity and things that fall. I am more gentle, and I create with the liberating goal of only impressing myself. I celebrate this change in me! I hope that this flower art print inspires an appreciation for the colorful and exquisite messes in all of our lives.
